Hope not to use!

This is one of those products that it is wise to have in the first aid box, but hope you never need to actually use it. It has a long shelf life so it can safely be kept in preparation. Given that when you would need to dispense this product into your pooch, which, owing to the situation, will be highly stressful, I think it is worth taking the time when you get the product to read the instructions and have a general idea of how to dispense this product. While it has a ring system to enable the quantity of the dose to be set before depressing the plunger, this is only for toy breeds of dog that only need ½ a tube. In most circumstances, a dog will need one or more full syringes of the product being used. My dog is within the weight to only require 1 full syring but if you have a larger dog, you will need at least 2 of these. This product is designed to give you the chance to get some potentially life-saving medication into your dog, to help stabilise the dog and give your vet the time to provide a treatment.

Char-coal You Be Prepared?

I hope I never have to use this PawUrgent Activated Charcoal Gel, but I feel reassured having it on hand for emergencies. It's designed to buy you valuable time before you can reach a vet, which could make all the difference. The slightly longer nozzle is helpful for administering directly into a dog's mouth, and I like that it can also be mixed into food if needed. That flexibility is a big plus. My only downside is sizing – you need to buy multiple tubes depending on your dog's weight, which could get expensive for larger breeds and isn't ideal for storage. Different tube sizes would be more practical. Overall, a sensible addition to any dog first aid kit.

Very effective

While this paste is on the pricier side compared to some alternatives, it's still much cheaper than a vet visit and their recommended product, which is a big plus when you have six dogs. It's a handy product to keep in the cupboard, especially if you have dogs with sensitive stomachs or dogs that will eat just about anything they can find. I've found it very effective for helping settle digestive upsets and firm up loose stools, usually within a couple of doses. The dosing system is excellent. The plunger has clear ruler markings, so you simply turn the dial to the correct dose and administer it without any guesswork. The paste has a consistency similar to runny peanut butter, and while some of my dogs will happily take it straight from the tube, others prefer it mixed into their food. Another advantage is the shelf life, which means you can keep it on hand for when it's needed without worrying about it expiring quickly. Overall, it's an easy-to-use and effective product that I've found well worth having available for those unexpected tummy troubles.

Good for a dog or cats home first aid kit

Living a good distance away from our emergency vets i think this is a must have for our pets first aid box. It can be given to help neutralize toxicity in a pet whilst on the way to a vets. Of course depending on the weight of the pet you may need more than one. I've always used charcoal in aquariums to neutralize the fishes medications after they've been in the water for the correct time. Activated charcoal truly is a wonderful thing. This product of course is for dogs and cats but i have confidence in it. The blunt plastic syringe like design makes dispensing it easy as does the dosage instructions. It's certainly a must have for a dog or cat first aid kit and could well buy precious time whilst awaiting the vets.

A good way to give fast-absorbing calicum!

This PawUrgent Oral Calcium Paste with Vitamin D3 would be great for use during whelping a litter of puppies. It can help supply the dam with much-needed calcium at a time of very high demand during whelping (although important not to give extra calcium before the first puppy is delivered). Calcium is necessary to help with contractions and also can help reduce the risk of eclampsia (milk fever) in the days and weeks after birth. The oral paste format makes it easy to give via the syringe, and the added Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption. It's particularly useful for larger litters or breeds known to be more prone to post-whelp calcium drops, under veterinary guidance. Overall, it's a practical, targeted supplement for nursing bitches when extra calcium support is needed.

Definitely saves a life, bought 2nd one now

The 30 cc Activated Charcoal Gel for Dogs has been a lifesaver in our home when our dog accidentally ingested something harmful. It's specifically formulated for animal use, which gives us confidence in its safety and effectiveness. Administering it was straightforward, and it worked quickly to help mitigate the effects of poisoning. The gel form makes it easier to give to our dog compared to tablets, reducing stress during an already tense situation. It's now a staple in our pet first aid kit, providing us with a sense of security knowing we have a reliable remedy on hand for emergencies. A must-have for any responsible dog owner.
